What is Taro?

Taro plant (pronounced tah-row) is a root plant known for having a purplish colour. It’s native the Southeast Asia and India, but is now widely used across the world (with a popular use being for Taro Milk Tea drinks).

The sweet, rich, and creamy Taro drink is one of the most popular flavours in the bubble tea world, easily recognisable for its pastel purple hue and is LOVED by many with their first sip.

How to Make Taro Milk Tea?

You’re going to love this Taro bubble tea recipe for a delicious cup of homemade Taro milk tea! To make this recipe you will need ingredients that can be found in our delicious packs, sourced directly from Taiwan – the home of bubble teas.

Feel free to adjust to suit your own taste (especially the sweetness)!

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoon of Taro Flavoured Powder
  • 1.5 Tablespoon Creamer or 60ml of your choice of milk
  • 3 Teaspoon sugar or any preferred sweetener
  • 1/2 Cup of Ice
  • 250ml hot water

Let’s make the Taro Flavoured Milk tea:

  1. Mix the Taro powder in 250 ml of hot water and stir until dissolved. 
  2. Stir in the creamer or your choice of milk and then add sugar or preferred sweetener to your desired sweetness. We recommend around 3 teaspoons of sugar. Stir until the creamy taro powder is dissolved.

Assemble:

  1. Place half a glass of ice into a cup.
  2. Optional: Pour in the cooked tapioca pearls or topping of your choice.
  3. Pour in the Taro Flavoured Milk Tea

And you’re finished!
