Join Embodiment Project for a week of workshops led by EP company members and guest instructors!
Please register for each class in advance to reserve your spot. Preference will be given to dancers who register for the entire week of each class. Please note that reservations not claimed by the start of class are subject to being released.
All Get Free Festival classes and events are free! We also accept donations while we continue to grow into our next chapter.

CLASS WITH TOYIN SOGUNRO

Storytelling; Exploring rhythm, mood and dynamics for creative expression through improvisation and composition. Learn how to break down, demonstrate and explore movement ideas for self- reflection and expression. Expand body awareness through cultural practices.
Examine the mind-body connection; questioning choices.Expand movement vocabulary through social exchanges. Understanding the importance of the social aspects of dance and community building.
Focus: Embody their own philosophy as artists.
CLASS WITH SABELA GRIMES

KnoWhere: is an immersive MediKinetic movement experience that invites participants to reframe our connection with the planet and reimagine the concept of spiritual companionship through dance. In a world that speaks for itself we, through kinetic rootwork, active listening, and interactive movement exchanges ground ourselves to weave together a fresh perspective on spirituality, the sacred and the profane.
PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP WITH K’NIIN ABBREY

So, flow is the focus. We’ll Take time exploring different pathways of the body and sound to further understand flow; how to let things fall into one another, how to take what we already have to bring newness to our movement, and our ability to express
Dancers who are interested in being a part of Kniin’s performance workshop must register for and attend Monday’s Performance Workshop Audition. If you have not registered to participate in Monday audition, please do so before signing up for the performance workshop rehearsal. Participants will get to share their the piece in an informal showing during the ELEMENTS Day Party on Saturday, July 8, 3-7pm, at YBCA.
