The Royal Oak Leprechauns play summer ball in the 15-team Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League, sanctioned and supported by Major League Baseball.
This outdoor event will be hosted at the recently renovated Memorial Park baseball diamond where the Leprechauns play.
Summer college baseball brings players from all over the country to various small towns in America. Some players have “Next Level” abilities and interests and hope to be seen by professional scouts for a shot in the upcoming MLB draft. Others just want to hone their skills to prepare for the next season. Players play with heart and grit in order to accomplish their goals. The coaches are college coaches from various schools in the country. This is exciting baseball and it’s special as the players interact with the fans during pregame and at our monthly camps. You’ve just got to experience this unique brand of baseball.
With roots in the Irish Hills of Michigan, the Leprechauns played ball for nearly a decade in Irish Hills and at Siena Heights University. With years of planning and finally the support from an angel sponsor: major leaguer and New York Yankees second baseman DJ Lemahieu, the Leprechauns had the proper support system to move to a prime-time location at 13-mile road and Woodward Ave in Royal Oak, Michigan. Moving east to Royal Oak was no easy feat as it required planning with the city and commitment from staff, the board, and also fans. Royal Oak, a hometown community of many of the Leprechaun’s staff and players, was the perfect landing place for the team.
Get off the bench and get in the game of supporting the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League.
