Experience the best of Puerto Rico right here in the Nation’s capital. Duarte Entertianment brings its second festival celebrating Puerto Rico culture–this time we bring you La Placita DMV. La Placita will be an eight-hour celebration of Puerto Rican culture bringing together Puerto Rican’s and those who appreciate our culture, music, art, and food. With artists and bands that you usually only see in Puerto Rico, kids entertainment, and plentiful food and accessible parking–bring your comfy shoes, beach towel and beach chairs because this is a full day event for the whole family.

We are a small, family-owned and operated business whose goal is to strengthen our Latin community socially and economically by creatively reconnecting as friends and family, even as we are far from our cultural homelands. Ticket Pricing Schedule:

  • $25 until Friday, July 7
  • $35 until Friday July 14
  • $45 until Friday July 21
  • $55 July 22, day of event
  • Kids under 12 years of age must use a FREE ticket to enter (security reasons)
  • Why the ticket price changes? Accurate ticket numbers allow us to properly plan for food and event logistics. Last minute ticket purchases mean our vendors need to make last minute changes. They also complicate overall event logistics and costs. Early ticket sales ensure a small business like ours and our partners can work more effectively, early, and continue to provide quality events for our community.

By Metro: Congress Heights Metro Station is available (5 min walk) Shuttle pickup/drop-off service from the Metro Station to Gateway Pavilion and back will be available. If you drink, don’t drive. We strongly recommend using ride-share service (UBER, Lyft, Taxi) or public transit like DC Metro.

Parking: Limited on-site paid parking is available in the Green Lot and the new parking garage behind Entertainment and Sports Arena.

  • Parking in Green Lot: limited spaces. $20 per car on event day. It is recommended to arrive early to secure a spot here.
  • Parking in Garage: enter the Parking Garage at Cypress Avenue and follow the road until it merges with Pecan St. SE. Parking is available on event day for a fee of $20 per car. Shuttle service from the Garage will be provided.

Event Rules: To ensure the safety of our audience and safeguard our business please be aware of the following rules PRIOR to booking:

  • Only service dogs are permitted in accordance with District of Washington and Federal law. Emotional support, comfort, and therapy animals do not qualify as service animals.
  • Disruptive behavior that poses a risk or invades personal space will not be tolerated at our events. Individuals with a reckless attitude will not be admitted and will be escorted out.
  • Duarte Entertainment reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who violates our policies or exhibits behavior deemed inappropriate or unsafe, disrespectful, or hateful. Refunds will not be issued for any reason.
  • Professional cameras or professional lenses are not permitted at our events without prior approval.
  • Footage and images of the event is reserved for sole use of Duarte Entertainment and may not be reproduced for profit or public use without permission from Duarte Entertainment. We reserve the right to remove anyone not adhering to this rule and to seek compensation for inappropriate use copying or reproduction or distribution of our media without or consent or proper credit or attribution.
  • Media representatives, bloggers, and influencers seeking accreditation for event coverage may inquire about limited available spaces at DuarteEntertainment.com or emailing [email protected].
  • Weather: This is a RAIN or SHINE event and the safety of our attendees, staff, and performers is of utmost importance. During inclement weather venue management and the event organizer will monitor weather conditions to ensure the safety of all involved. If lightning is detected within a 10-mile radius of the venue, the event will not proceed until it is deemed safe to do so. We will keep attendees informed through announcements on stage and on our social media channels, including Twitter @duarteevents, Instagram & Facebook @duarteentertainment. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in the event of any weather-related changes or disruptions.
