The One Africa! One Nation! Farmers Market team is incredibly excited to launch our third season in North St. Louis: We are under new management, and in a new location- the historic O’Fallon Park!

Our mission is to provide access to fresh, healthy food to the black community, end food apartheid and create community commerce by building relationships with black farmers and vendors — a blueprint for African self-determination.

This market season is all about buying from each other and selling to everyone, bringing commerce back into the North St. Louis. This season will also feature programming ranging from our children’s circle, to backyard gardening workshops, to free yoga classes, as well as cultural performances by local artists!

We are seeking volunteers of all skill levels, from all walks of life to staff each Market day!

Volunteers have always been critical to the success of the Farmers Market.

Day-of Roles include:

  • Morning set-up: Unload market supplies and equipment from the truck and set-up tents, signs, tables, chairs, etc.
  • Break-down the market in the afternoon
  • Assist vendors in setting up / breaking down their booths
  • Set up stage and sound system
  • Staff the vendor and volunteer check-in tables
  • Staff the market info booth
  • Childcare for the children’s circle

Volunteer shifts are two hours, and we will work with your schedule. You can sign up for as many shifts as you like!

Sign up for a volunteer orientation! They can be in-person at the Uhuru House Community Center, or online via zoom. Go to tinyurl.com/oneafricavolunteers and fill out the form, or email [email protected] and we will schedule a time to chat.

Word cannot express the profound appreciation for all the volunteers that have put their handprint on this beautiful market. We can’t wait to work with you!
