Briess Malt & Ingredients Co. is excited to announce the 2nd annual Malt City Brewfest! The event will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 2:00-5:30pm in downtown Manitowoc in the parking lot between the river and library. There will be over 30 craft brewers at the event serving some of their favorite beers. Musical guest will be Suzie and the Detonators. Food trucks will be offering ribs, brisket, burgers, pretzels, cheese curds and more.

Malt City Brewfest offers the perfect environment to explore new styles and find your next favorite brew. Proceeds will go to local charities, including Pink Heals of Manitowoc County (support for those battling any type of cancer) and Lakeshore Humane Society in Manitowoc.

By entering the event grounds, you willingly give your permission for the Malt City Brewfest, Briess Malt and Brewfest Partners to capture your image via video and photography for its unrestricted use in all forms of media/marketing.

Frequently asked questions

What time do gates open?

Gates open at 1PM for VIP ticket holders and 2PM for General Admission.

What does a General Admission ticket include?

2PM admission with endless sampling of 100+ beers though 5:30PM and a souvenir pint glass

What does the VIP ticket include?

1PM admission with endless sampling of 100+ beers though 5:30PM, souvenir pint glass, WI Hop Passport ($30 value), 16oz. collab can of beer made by three Manitowoc Breweries, Brewfest bucket hat, Brewfest beer holder, Briess Malted Milk Balls and Briess drawstring bag

Can I purchase tickets the day of the event?

Yes! Tickets will still be available for purchase on Eventbrite until 4:30PM on the day of the event. To lessen time in line, we recommend ordering them in advance.

What about Designated Drivers?

Designated Drivers (DD) are more than welcome to attend Malt City Brewfest and can still enjoy a variety of other things that we offer. DD’s must be 21 years of age or older. DD tickets are $15 and include complimentary soda and water. DD will receive a commemorative event pint glass upon exiting.

Can I bring in my own food or drinks?

Malt City Brewfest will have plenty of food from Food Trucks and non-alcoholic drinks available. Guests are not permitted to bring in their own food or drinks. Complimentary bottled water will be available to all attendees.

What am I allowed to bring into the event?

Allowed items: bags/purses/totes, chairs, sunscreen/sun protection.
Banned Items: Open liquid containers, noise makers/speakers, weapons, drugs/ illegal substances, pets (other than service animals).

What organizations is the event benefitting?

Proceeds will benefit Pink Heals of Manitowoc County (support for those battling any type of cancer) and Lakeshore Humane Society in Manitowoc. People battling cancer, or who know someone who is, can sign the Pink Heals emergency vehicle.

Will there be seating?

Yes. Picnic tables will be set up in the event space. First-come, first-served.

Will handicap parking and restrooms be available?

Yes. Both will be available.

What type of transportation is available?

Manitowoc County Transit System is available for use, and you can plan your trip by visiting their website. A variety of local taxi and rideshare (Uber/Lyft) services are also available to prevent drinking and driving.

Who can attend Malt City Brewfest?

The event is open to all people 21 and older. No children or pets, other than service animals, are allowed into the event.

What is the refund policy?

The event will take place rain or shine. In the event of rain, every effort will be made to cover portions of the event space. Sorry, no refunds.
