December 31 – Annual First Night Hartford
Hartford, Connecticut
First Night is a multicultural, artistically unique, alcohol-free New Year’s experience with countless professional musicians, artists, performance groups and exhibits that inspire thousands of people of all ages to attend each year. It’s also an affordable way for everyone to ring in the New Year. The day includes TWO spectacular fireworks shows at 6 PM and midnight in Bushnell Park that can be seen throughout the city by thousands of residents and visitors.
March – Hebron Maple Festival
Hebron, Connecticut
Each year thousands of people come from miles around to enjoy the weekend of maple related events. Self-tours, demonstrations and a variety of maple products at several local sugar houses. Dog sled exhibition, chain saw carvers, crafts, vendors and lots of good food! Annually the 2nd weekend in March.
June – Annual Cheshire Strawberry Festival
Cheshire, Connecticut
The festival features mouth-watering fresh strawberry shortcake along with plenty of other great food. There are games and amusements for children of all ages, a petting zoo, live music, and a craft fair. Sponsored by First Congregational Church, the event is held on Church Green in the center of historic Cheshire.
